Synopsis (lazy summary): Older brother (Kaede) is an omega in a family of alphas. He is also the alpha listener’s fated pair. The younger brother (Goushi) is an alpha and wildly in love with listen as well. He resents his older brother (Kaede) because he can never be with you because he’s an alpha but his brother can. Instead of getting over himself he decides to give the listener some super wacky medication that turns the listener into an omega. This is the point where the story diverges between the two CDs. Does the listener stay with her omega lover and spend the rest of her heats in pain? Or does the listener stay with the alpha who ruined her dream?

First impression: This was the continuation of a good story. I particularly liked the little flashback. It was almost like the listener’s life was flashing before their eyes before you snapped back to this dark reality. I kind of got the feeling of wishing the listener was dead because then you would at least get hold on to those last happy memories. I mentioned it in my last review, but this is really meant to be a dark story. I thought for a little bit maybe the older brother would come back to try to save the listener and then get killed but unfortunately it was mostly like he no longer existed. He gets mentioned a few times but considering the first CD, I would’ve expected him to at least try to rescue the listener. I liked this CD, just felt that scene was missing and was needed to really solidify how evil the younger brother is. Also, I don’t know why but the slaps sounded unbelievably sexy to me. I wanted more of that.

Final impressions (after multiple listens): This is daaaaark and it literally starts dark. It only gets darker. There is no happy end. While I love dark fiction, I do feel bad for listener. Your life is really cursed forever because of this guy. I was a little hopeful that this would turn into a toxic love story towards the end but it doesn’t. I’m saving this CD for when I’m feeling extra evil and want a cursed story.

Would I recommend it?: Not unless you’re into noncon and other dark tropes. This CD has a little bit of everything for the dead dove fans though. It’s also not completely unbelievable that the listener still chooses the younger brother in the end if you consider that they were likely close before this but just weren’t a good match for each other. Of course, you can definitely say that this was just the usual ‘stockholm syndrome’ trope and I wouldn’t disagree. As I mentioned in my previous review, make sure to listen to the older brother’s CD BEFORE starting this one or you will miss key pieces of the story.
